A boutique has opened in a former dentist's office in the West End, with the goal of becoming the “go-to” spot for home and gift shopping in Greenville. David Fruscione relocated his showroom and design studio, Republic of Decor, from Florida earlier this year.

Fruscione considered making the Augusta Street location the second iteration of his original store, but he decided to go all-in after exploring the Greenville market.
“It's a growing city, and it's on every top-10 list, so there's a lot of buzz here,” Fruscione said.

Designed around what Fruscione calls "destinations," the store's alcove areas are divided into mini shops. They include statement decor pieces, tabletop and hostess gifts, Republic of Decor signature fragrance products such as candles, room spray, soaps, and lotions (with a clever nod to historical Greenville locales); pillows, throws, and baby gifts; books, games, and stationery; and a garden boutique with pots and bonsai trees. A selection of curated gourmet goods like chocolate, honey, and tea is on display, as is a rotating selection of artwork.

Republic of Decor, an interior design studio offering an eclectic mix of home accessories, unique gifts, and distinctive objects and décor, has opened in Greenville’s West End.  The business, located at 109 Augusta St., will also offer interior design services. The showroom and studio will celebrate its opening this spring.

Bold gestures meet coastal comforts in a Marco Island getaway designed to be as livable as it is striking.

Virginia may have its charms, but azure water and swaying palms are not among them. So when a Virginia family sought a coastal escape, they landed on Marco Island, creating a retreat that feels worlds away from their Mid-Atlantic-area life.

The 6,600-square-foot, five-bedroom home was designed by HLevel Architecture and built by BUILD, with interiors by David Fruscione of Republic of Decor. Conceived as a spec house, the structure quickly became a personalized sanctuary once the buyers came aboard. "The clients wanted something dramatically different from their traditional D.C.-area primary residence," David says. "They wanted that casual, coastal, transitional feel while maintaining the sophistication they appreciate."
