Inspired by Mocha Mousse

It's that time of year when many focus on Valentine's Day and that usually means most also have chocolate on their minds. I know that I can't get through the day without at least one piece. It made me think about Pantone's color of the year - #17-1230 Mocha Mousse. For the past few years, the design industry shifted towards gray and cooler neutrals. However, the pendulum always swings and we are now seeing things warm up. Clients are looking for earth tones and browns in their spaces again. Hardwood floors are getting darker and mid tone wood stains are getting selected. This also applies to cabinetry and other built-ins being designed. The celebration of wood, it's stain and grain combined with the brown hue, makes a room feel luxe.
I have pulled great examples from my design studio that highlight Mocha Mousse.
This is one of my favorite kitchen projects I worked on and a great example of how the color and tone feels in a space.
This wallpaper is sensational, it has a lot of graphic interest, visual textural and glorious earth tones. If you are interested in exploring this idea, please reach out!
If you are drawn to something more graphic - this wallcovering is a show stopper with its movement, texture and pattern it would make a great choice for a feature wall.
Mocha Mousse is making a strong showing with accessories and home decor.
These are all beautiful pieces available through our showroom. You can see this color in a range of materials - glass, textiles, pottery, stone and rattan.
I personally love these handmade African baskets, the shapes are so sculptural.
So what do you think? Are you team Mocha? Are you ready to incorporate chocolate tones into your environment? Hopefully the images I have included inspired you. If anything specific has caught your eye - shoot me a message and I can get you info.
Now - go grab a piece of chocolate. I know I am about to.
