Interior Design Society - Designer of the Year Awards
Each year the National Interior Design Society recognizes the hard work and creative talent of their members across the country. Hosted by Jonathan Adler, this year's gala took place in Chicago at the historic Blackstone Hotel. Categories range from specific types of spaces and singular areas to new construction and specialty awards. I am excited and proud to have been awarded as runner up for my work in the best new construction category. This project has been one of my favorites to work on and I am honored that it caught the attention of the judges.
The overall design concept was to create a sophisticated urban retreat for the homeowners while visiting their 2nd home in Naples. Contrary to the predictable Floridian or coastal aesthetic, the clients wanted a chic and edgy feel, grounded in neutrals and textures with subtle pops of color. Located in a newly developed high-end condo complex, the residence is minutes from downtown with resort like amenities. They wanted to embrace that vibe and design a space that represented luxe city living. Gorgeous wallpapers, tactile fabrics and mix of materials created this dreamy pied-a-terre.
