It's a new year and the perfect time to get motivated to do a little refreshing at home.  Most of us make resolutions that we struggle to keep. Don't let updating your personal spaces be one of them.  I am here to help inspire and expose you to ideas to plant those creative seeds.

High Point Market is the largest home furnishings industry trade show in the world, bringing more than 75,000 people to High Point, North Carolina twice a year.  With more than 2,000 exhibitors over 180 buildings, there is a ton to get inspired by.  Each product line highlights their new introductions for industry professionals to order for their clients and stores.

This year, I was invited as a VIP buyer to attend the NY Now show held at the Javits Center hoping to find unique pieces for clients and the shop.  I powered through the large convention center reviewing the 2,300 brands that were on display from all over the world.  Needless to say, I walked for miles according to my phone and scored big with selections from new companies.

Home Accents Today, a leading home furnishings publication selected Republic of Decor as a top 50 independent home furnishings store in the country.  This award was announced during the July Americas Mart in Atlanta.  While at the Mart, I zipped through the multiple levels and buildings to see what’s new from the multitude of brands that showcase their product.

After a busy season at the shop, I was excited to get out and see new things.  I spent 4 full days in High Point, North Carolina and explored the many bustling showrooms in the furniture capital of the US.  Practically every furniture line out there, unveils their newest creations for the design industry to hopefully swoon over.  I covered a lot of ground and found a lot of new resources which was one of my primary goals this trip.

It is a new year and that means that it is a good time to try new things.  I am always on the hunt to find fresh, unique merchandise that is distinctive and gorgeous!  These are some of the new items that are making their way into the shop.

It’s that time of year again and the spotlight is on High Point, NC to see what the industry is buzzing about. I love to investigate the trends and find pieces that stand out. This season, I was drawn to unique shapes and details. There was an organic textural feel with creative material use. My favorites here have a sculptural sensibility that create artful focal points in a space.

I am a firm believer that every space should have something that is a bit unexpected to provide some visual interest. These elements create conversation and provide whimsy to a room.A great example are these ottomans.

I had a productive trip to Atlanta to attend their summer home show. This market primarily features decorative accessories and gift items however furniture showrooms are also there. As you know, I am always on the search for unique things that are fresh and sophisticated.

Twice a year the home furnishings industry comes together in High Point, NC to share the latest and greatest from their lines.  During market week, showrooms go all out to host designers and retailers to get excited and place orders. I had a great visit and found lots of fabulous new items that will be heading to the shop.
